The International Tourism Fair of the Amazon (FITA) gets to its fourth edition highlighting the importance of this region to the planet. The vast natural heritage of the Amazon challenges mankind to preserve it and use it rationally.

By the theme “Tourism and Sustainability in the Amazon”, FITA intends to show the tourist attractions of the countries that make up the Pan-Amazon, thus allowing for such countries to become better known in the regional, domestic and international markets. Also, they are expected to be known by the people visiting the region, adding to strengthening and structuring tourism as one of the alternatives of socio-economic development for those who live in the Amazon.

Fita also intends to promote the debate of alternatives and the means for the socio-environmental diversity of the Amazon region to be known, enjoyed and protected by everyone: Pan-Amazonians, Brazilians and foreigners.

Starting from four underlying concepts, namely: the ecologically correct, the economically feasible, the socially fair, and the culturally accepted, sustainability is an indispensable tool for continued development of the society, providing for the needs of the present generation without affecting the possibility and ability of future generations.

Join this discussion on the construction of a new behavior, which shall directly affect both your life and our planet.

Come to FITA 2008.
